AUSTRIAN ARMY : NOTES - One of the more difficult aspects of Austrian organization is the advanced guard division that is often a part of a corps. At field strength, these formations are sometimes not even close to representing an entire division, and in may cases below they have disappeared from the official order of battle and been merged with the other divisions in the corps, usually being parceled out in ways that they would have been in real life. One major exception is the Advanced Guard which is shown as a division below. It is directly under the command of Charles and may remain that way - receiving orders from him during a battle - or it may be assigned to an existing corps. At both Wagram and Aspern-Essling, Nordman's division was positioned on the army's extreme left or right end as a flank-guard and did not actually do any "advanced guard" work. Many light units are made up of army jagers that have been brigaded with Archduke Charles Legion jagers, the skirmishers produced by these units will usually be poor instead of average.
