REPUBLIQUE
GRAND-TACTICAL NAPOLEONIC WARFARE IN MINIATURE

Orders of Battle for Jena Campaign
October 10, 1806

In order to fit the intricate organization of the various Prussian divisions into a workable grand-tactical gaming arrangement, some formations have been merged or otherwise had their organization streamlined. This avoids too many single base units or larger formations with too many senior officer figures on the board. So for example, the line division's individual grenadier battalions have been merged into brigades named for one of the brigadier generals who would otherwise not appear in the OOB (Order of Battle). In some cases, the names of senior commanders are not listed in the available records. Prussian advanced guard formations tend to brigade light infantry and light cavalry together, which can seem strange to players used to homogenous units. Such formations are commonly used for flank protection or securing towns as part of an advance. Refer to Optional Rule #112 - Mixed Units for guidance on how best to use the advance guard units for game play.

This general order of battle covers the four days before the battles of Jena and Auerstadt. Ferdinand's advanced guard division would be missing roughly five or six bases by the 14th. Wurttemberg's entire command was not present at Jena or Auerstadt.
