IT Miniatures
I ran into the folks at IT Figures in June, 2001, when I visited the Salute Convention in London. I was walking around the dealer booths and stopped in front of a case of well-painted WWII figures. Except some of the Germans had been painted up as if their helmets were from WWI. But wait a second, those German helmets were pretty large, then my eyes wandered over to the "WWII" British figures, and they were wearing gas-mask bags on their chests... and they had puttees!! "Wow!! These are World War One figures" I blurted out. Sure enough, here was a line of beautifully designed 20mm figures for the World War One era; Germans, Russians, British, Turks, Arab cavalry, you name it. So I struck up a conversation with the good people running the booth and discovered that Bill Tyson is the creator of these wonderful miniatures. I soon added his line of figures to WTJ in order to compliment our 1916 wargame rules and things have gone very well ever since.

In order to better concentrate on figure design Bill sold his foundry operation to Lancashire Games in early 2002. Allan Lumley of Manchester, England now handles casting and warehousing of the newly mastered line of WWI figures, which still operates under the name IT Miniatures. Bill continues to add new figures to the line, so feel free to have a look around and enjoy the rare selection, which is probably the largest offering of quality figures available for these periods. The average WTJ "Man Height" of IT 20mm figures is 20mm.
