Ordering
Quick Outline — The blue column on the left side of this page contains descriptive links to the catalog pages. Clicking on any of those links will cause the corresponding catalog page to appear in place of the white field where you are currently reading. Each catalog page contains a list of products which can individually be added to your virtual "shopping cart" by clicking on the Order button to the right of that product. Once you have ordered all the items you want, click the Finalize button in your shopping cart to complete your order. Its impossible to hurt anything, and so long as you don't actually supply a credit card number, it's impossible to accidentally order anything. So feel free to click around and see how things work.

Details: Catalog Pages — Once you click on a Game Shop product-line link, you are taken to a secure catalog page within the WTJ secure server area. At the end of each product description are two buttons which work as follows:

You can click Order to add an item to a virtual "shopping cart" which is automatically created to act as a holding area for all items on which you click the order button. You can also delete or change the quantity of any item added to your shopping cart. You do not need to register or give personal information to use the shopping cart, and you do not need to accept cookies in order for the shopping cart system to work. If however, you make any changes to your browser settings, the catalog software will usually dump any existing shopping cart and you'll have to start over. If you end your browsing session after adding items to the shopping cart, it doesn't hurt anything, the information is simply dumped by the system if you are not using cookies. You may visit any other parts of WTJ and still return to the shopping cart to resume your shopping session.
The View button does not order anything, it simply allows you to move to the shopping cart. In doing so, it achieves two different tasks. You can use this button to view your latest shopping cart selections without adding anything, or you can use it to check-out to the shopping cart and finalize your order. A view button is supplied after each order button for convenience, but because it doesn't add anything to your shopping cart, it has no affiliation with the product line upon which it rests.

Details: Shopping Cart — The shopping cart lists all of the items you have ordered and allows you to change their quantities, select the method of shipping and add comments to your order. There may also be an Out of Stock notice at the top of the frame if the item you just tried to order is not available. The out of stock note includes a voluntary backorder option, see more under Optional Back Orders. The shopping cart buttons work as follows:
The Return to Shopping button:
It is recommended that you use the Return to Shopping button to return to the catalog instead of pushing the Back button on your browser. Your shopping cart will then update properly and your browser's cache will not become confused. If your Return to Shopping button accidentally puts you back into a page which is a frame segment, just click on the Game Shop 1 Home link at the top of the page or any of the main index links to resume the normal format. No harm will be done.

Quantities and Recalculating:
In order to change quantities, simply type a new number into a products quantity box and click the Recalculate button. Game Shop 1 has no minimum order. You may buy as little as one pack of miniatures, but please remember that you will still need to pay for shipping and handling.

The Clear Basket button:
This command will delete everything from your shopping cart and reset all values to the default settings.

The Finalize Order button:
Once you have selected your purchase items, confirmed their quantities, prices and shipping options, click on Finalize Order. This will take to the fully encrypted secure credit-card panel which allows you to authorize your sale. (See below).

Details: Finalizing — Once you have selected your purchase items, confirmed their quantities, prices and shipping options, click on Finalize Order. This will take you to the secure credit-card panel which allows you to authorize your sale. The finalization page is secure and should open in a new secure browser window. Once you have completed your purchase and shipping information, click on the Proceed button to process your order. After a short pause during which our Shopsite software processes your order, a thank you screen will appear confirming your order. At this point you may either click on the link at the top of the page which returns you to the main game shops page, or you may simply close the browser window. Your original browser window with shopping cart will probably still be open. You may either close that browser window, or click on the Empty Cart button and resume your web surfing.
FAQ: After I complete my order, the shopping cart with all my stuff listed is still visible. Why?
Answer: We allow the shopping cart to remain visible so that your finalization screen can appear in a new window to demonstrate that you have a secure transaction. We could embed the finalization screen over the top of your shopping cart, thereby eliminating the need for you to manually close your shopping cart after completion of your order. However, embedding the finalization screen like that would prevent the security key logo from appearing in your browser window. And while your order would still be secure, most people justifiably prefer to see their browser's security confirmation logo as proof of that security.

Optional Back Orders — If an item is not in stock, the shopping cart will post a warning notice at the top of the frame, letting you know that item is not available. You may however, place a backorder for that item if you want to have it mailed to you as soon as it arrives. There is no extra shipping charge for the backordered items, and we give top priority to those orders. You can manually go to the backorder page and order out of stock items through this Back Order Page link.

Mail Order — Customers who prefer to order by mail can print out our Order Form and send the completed form along with payment to our mailing address at: The War Times Journal, PO Box 706, Lucerne Valley , CA 92356, USA. Please note that personal checks drafted on banks outside of the United States must add $5.00 USD to cover bank processing fees.

Shipping
Shipping Notice: If you are ordering from outside the United States, please remember to adjust your shopping cart's shipping selection to one of the International settings. Failure to do so may result in a delay or cancellation if we are unable to receive the full shipping and handling required to send the order.

Local Shipping Rates — Within the U.S. there is a flat rate shipping fee of $4.00 for orders up to $50 in value and $5.00 for orders over $50.00. All orders shipped within the U.S. use Priority Mail when available.

International Order Rates — If you live outside of the U.S. and Canada, there is a flat rate shipping fee of $4.00 for orders up to $50 in value, $5.00 for orders up to $160 in value, $6.00 for orders up to $270 in value and $7.00 or higher for orders greater than $270. To calculate shipping for an international order greater than $270, simply click on the Order lines for the items you wish, and then view the shopping cart and click on the drop-down box for shipping. Shown on the Game Shop 1 - International Airmail line will be the cost of International Air Mail delivery. Remember to hit the Recalculate button if you have just selected a new shipping method or rate. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

FAQ: What happens if I order something from outside the country and forget to set the correct shipping value?
Answer: We will contact you and ask for permission to manually charge the balance needed to ship your order. Please make sure your e-mail and/or phone number contacts are correct. We will only contact you for order related queries.

International Customs Policies — Some countries charge handling and customs fees for incoming packages, and customers are strongly advised to find out what these are before ordering. Canadian customs charges a hefty holding fee as well as a customs fee, and Canadian citizens should seriously consider contacting us in advance so that we may arrange alternate UPS shipment.

Delivery Speed — All warehouse stocked items are normally shipped within 24 hours of an order's receipt. Please note that U.S. Priority Mail sometimes suffers delays and that 10 days should be allowed for arrival of your package. Back ordered items are subject to an additional processing delay depending on our foundry schedule. See the Optional Back Orders section above, as all back ordering within Game Shop 1 is voluntary.

Customer Support
Refund Policy — All normally stocked wargaming miniatures and supplies carry a 10 day money-back return/exchange policy. If you decide within 10 days of your purchase that you want to return your merchandise, you may mail it along with a 10% restocking fee and applicable shipping fees (for exchanges) to The War Times Journal, PO Box 706, Lucerne Valley, CA 92356 along with a copy of your shipper and/or e-mail confirmation. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks for processing.

Returns — If your order has not been properly filled, let us know and we will arrange for the return and re-filling of your order.
