The Tide at Sunrise: A History of the Russo-Japanese War, 1904-1905, by Denis Ashton Warner

Russia Against Japan, 1904-1905: A New Look at the Russo-Japanese War, by J.N. Westwood. By one of the better authors for this period. Mr. Westwood manages to write clear, concise narratives which are more accurate than most other second sources. Always recommended.

The Chinese Steam Navy 1862-1945, by Richard N. J. Wright
Not entirely within the period, but with enough unusual information to warrant inclusion in the Russo-Japanese War list.
