Outline – In short, you can dramatically speed the posting of your website to within 48 hours by paying a $4.95 fee through our secure on-line order system. It is the same Shop Site Pro ordering system that we have used reliably for four years in our game shops. All you need is a valid credit card and a website you want posted here at The War Times Journal. To order simply click on any Quick List button and you will be taken to a secure shopping cart page where you can enter your URL and complete your order. You can also delete or change the quantity of submissions added to your shopping cart. You do not need to register or give personal information to use the shopping cart, and you do not need to accept cookies in order for the shopping cart system to work. If however, you make any changes to your browser settings, the catalog software will usually dump any existing shopping cart and you'll have to start over. If you end your browsing session after adding items to the shopping cart, it doesn't hurt anything, the information is simply dumped by the system. You may visit any other parts of WTJ and still return to the shopping cart to resume your shopping session. How many? – You may submit any number of websites, although the $4.95 fee is per URL submitted. You can easily set the number of URL additions in the Shopping Cart. The Shopping Cart – The shopping cart lists all of the listings you have ordered and allows you to change their quantities, type in URLs or add comments to your order. See below for details of specific shopping cart features: The Customer Input box: The customer input area is where you want to enter the URL of your website. This is very important. Without your URL, we cannot process your order. You may also include a description of your website up to 40 characters, although any description offered is subject to use only at WTJ discretion. WTJ may choose to use an alternate description for your website, although it will never be a negative description of course. Zero the Shipping Charge settings: Our shopping cart system is also used for selling gaming supplies, so you will want to "zero out" the shipping fee by selecting the $0.00 setting from the shipping charge drop box. Don't worry, if you accidentally forget to do this, we will simply void your request and e-mail you with a note to try it again... no problem. :) The Return to Shopping button: It is recommended that you use the Return to Shopping button to return to the Quick List information page instead of pushing the Back button on your browser. Your order will then update properly and your browser's cache will not become confused. If your Return to Shopping button accidentally puts you back into a page which is a frame segment, just click on the Quick List logo or any of the main index links to resume the normal format. No harm will be done. Quantities and Recalculating: In order to change quantities, simply type a new number into a products quantity box and click the Recalculate button. The Clear Basket button: This command will delete everything from you shopping cart and reset all values to the default settings. The Finalize Order button: Once you have entered your URLs, confirmed their quantities, prices and shipping options, click on Finalize Order. This will take to the fully encrypted secure credit-card panel which allows you to authorize your sale. (See below).
The Server – The WTJ Store is run on certified software called Shop Site PRO, which resides in a special computer called a server. The server is secured using the same encryption technology as all standard banking systems. It is connected by VeriSign (a bank-certified transaction service) to the WTJ merchant account at Wells Fargo Bank. The entire system, from start to finish, is designed for the fullest possible security. Indeed, the various companies involved in this process will refuse to deliver their services unless we demonstrate that we have simultaneously contracted with all of the proper authorities to make sure that all transactions in the order chain are fully encrypted at each and every step. Credit Card Information – The credit card information panel is a secure web-page which allows your computer to "tell" our computer that your credit card is authorized to make the purchase. Note that processing of your credit card authorization may take several moments. Your credit card charge does not occur at this time. This is purely an authorization check. Once you successfully complete the credit card information and WTJ is notified of your order, we then access our server via a secure access line and confirm your request. At that time, after we have reviewed your URL and conducted any safety checks which we deem necessary* we then officially bill the credit card and notify you of your posting. * Security Note: WTJ reserves the right to confirm the validity of an order and to cancel any order which it considers risky. If there is no match between your credit card company's address record and the address noted for the order, the order may be subject to cancellation. Please contact WTJ in advance if you need to make special arrangements regarding this safety feature. Privacy Policy – The War Times Journal does not actively collect information about visitors to our site. The only information available to us is that routinely supplied by the server, such as ISP, browser type, etc. Information and e-mail submitted to the Portal is used only for the applicable communication or posting. WTJ does not maintain a mailing list, nor does it supply, offer or sell names, addresses or e-mail account titles to outside parties. Contact Us – You can contact us via e-mail at info@wtj.com for order related questions, or at webmaster@wtj.com in case of trouble with either our website or your order. We do not currently offer direct phone support, but don't let that put you off. The Portal is part of The War Times Journal, which has been on-line since 1996, having established a spotless record for honesty and integrity. We stand behind our record and will help you to fulfill your request safely and dependably.
Placement – Once your posting request is received, we will immediately (within 48 hours that is) go to your website to make sure it matches the type of sites we post at our Portal. It is important to note that the payment of your fee does not guarantee posting of your site to WTJ. It guarantees that we will review your link request immediately. Once we have reviewed your website for content match, we will either post it for the agreed upon fee, or not post it and refund your fee. You may include a request in your order for a specific placement of your website, and we will usually abide by that request. Final decision for each placement however, resides with the WTJ editor. Dedicated business sites for example, must be posted within the business section and not the other areas of the Portal. Personal websites cannot be posted in the Museums section, and so forth. If you have any questions about placement of your URL, please feel free to inquire in advance of your purchase and we will do whatever we can to help get your posting in the place you want it. Please note that once you submit your order, you are agreeing to abide by WTJ's final decision for link placement, and we cannot offer refunds for any accepted URL. Consumer Note: The War Times Journal reserves the right to refuse service to any customer at its discretion, and does not accept responsibility for business or monetary losses which may arise as a result of a listing application. WTJ commentary is purely editorial in nature and unless otherwise stated, posting of a URL to the Portal does not indicate an endorsement or critique of a website or its content.
How Long – All submitted websites are evaluated and posted to the WTJ Portal within 48 hours of receipt of notification of your order request. This time does not include server down time, which is out of the control of WTJ, nor does it include major emergencies. We do however, have an excellent track record for speedy follow-up of orders and order processing, and 99.9% of the time, your order will post within 48 hours. If it does not, you will not be charged your posting fee. What if you don't use Quick List? Well, we usually make new (free) additions to our Portal three or four times a year. Although if other vital projects are in process, even this can get stretched out. So without the Quick List expedite, the free posting of a URL to the Portal can take three to six months. This is normal among free link lists, as they represent a very labor intensive process at sites who normally have many other critical operations in hand. Making Changes Refunds & Changes – Once you Finalize your order request, you may not get a refund on your $4.95 posting fee. You may however, make changes to already existing listings or requests for free up to twice a year. If your site is ultimately not posted on our Portal (see What You Get above), then we will immediately refund your list fee(s). Remember, your fee is not refundable if your site is accepted for posting on the WTJ Portal. To request a change to an existing account, just send an e-mail to webmaster@wtj.com with the change request information and a copy of your original e-mail receipt and your account will be changed within 48 hours. |
